The training centre is based in Sheffield just off the M1 motorway. The school is indoor ensuring maximum comfort throughout 12 months of the year. All training is undertaken at the indoor facility and controlled by well qualified staff ensuring that delegate safety and protection is maintained at all times.
The price is INCLUSIVE of a buffet lunch, all drinks throughout the day and the certification upon successful completion of the course.
Duration: 1 DAY
The course is designed to ensure staff that enter confined spaces during their working day are able to identify forseeable specified risk associated with confined spaces. Onse these risks are identified, they can be reduced or relevant counter measures can be put inot place. The course is written and presented around the Confined Space Regulations of 1997.

The course is designed for managers, supervisors, engineers and operatives.
What will I learn?
If successful on passing the course the objective is that the individual will be able to identify a confined space, the associated risks, work safely within the confined space using the necessary and appropriate equipment

- Company Health and Safety Policy and Safe System of work
- The Confined Space regulations. Health and Safety at Work Act, management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations
- Personal Protective Equipment Regulations, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations, Noise at Work Regulations
- Interpretation and Recognition of Confined Spaces
- Safe Working in Confined Spaces
- Use of permit to work procedures
- Plant and equipment, suitability and type
- Use of gas detection equipment
- Use of Escape compressed air breathing apparatus
- Identification and use of Personal Protective Equipment
- Ventilation
- Maintenance and Inspection of equipment
- Manning levels and responsibilities
- Communication systems
- Emergency procedures
As the course is continually assessed throughout the duaration there will be a written examintion at the end of the practical exercise. This will prove the competency of the operatives and will ensure that all delegates reach the National Occupational Standard.
